Possible 1st Time Home Buyers

Okay, so as of this past weekend Lindsey and I got a wild hair up our butt and we've decided that we might possibly purchase our 1st home this summer since they've extended the tax credit. Well, that's not the only reason, but that's a HUGE incentive. At this point it's just a thought, we don't even know if we would qualify. But we're def getting our ducks in a row. This week Lindsey has an interview for a promotion at work...if he gets it we're def going to start the process. Just thinking about owning my own home is so freaking exciting. Growing up, I've always lived in apartments and of course living on my own I lived in apartments as well. So I'm ready to settle down and stay there! And get a puppy! Lol! We're thinking the McKinney, Frisco, Allen, & Plano area because Kennedy will be attending Ogle Elementary (in 1 more year...OMG...I'm going to cry) in McKinney close to Stacy Rd & Custer...so I would like to be with in 5-10-15 miles of her school. So if anyone has any advice for a first time home buyer, please pass it this way!

  1. That is SO FUN!!! My advice would be to get as much space as possible in your price range, don't get sucked in by smaller houses with all the bells and whistles. You can always add bells and whistles later like at tax return time or save up for special stuff for the house, etc. You can't add more space. That is one thing I wish we could redo, our house is 1830 and with two kids, it feels like the walls are closing in on us, stresses me out!
