1st day of school cont.....

So on the 1st day of school Kennedy was asked to draw a picture of herself in her new Kindergarten class "as happy as can be." And this is what she draws:A weird mean faced nun looking creature w/a big "NO" next to it and I think that might be a carrot in it's hand. She's deathly afraid of vegetables and said some little girl was eating carrots at lunch on the first day and she couldn't believe it so I guess she might think that she has to eat carrots there... I don't know! Lol! :)

Random Thoughts on Tuesday

  • Why was there an earthquake in Colorado & Virginia today? Craaazzyy! The end is near... :insert scary oooohhh sound here:
  • Kimberly Stewart & Benicio Del Toro welcome a baby...what the heck...she's a retard; he could do so much better (even tho I really like her Dad...Rod is awesome). Anyone ever see the MTV Cribs episode w/her on it. Don't watch it...you'll wish you has those few minutes of your life back. I was embarrassed for her.
  • Why have I had a headache for the past two days? It will NOT go away. I've popped prob a whole bottle of ibuprofen today.
  • When is this heat ever going to go away??? Ugh! It's so freaking hot. The heat has made me lifeless. I can't go anywhere or do anything. I'm a blob of melted human mush or at least that's what I feel like.
  • I try and have no more than one show on TV a night to watch that way I can still spend some good quality time w/the kiddos and clean the house and stuff...today is Tuesday..so it's "Teen Mom" night. Yes I watch that show. I know. It is what it is. The other night I had I had a dream that I was dating Macy's ex Ryan... What?? He's cute. A little too young for me, but cute. :)
  • 4 more weeks until my vacay! Can't wait! Riviera Maya here we come...
  • Do I really need a Facebook? My SIL keeps trying to make us one. I don't see what the big deal is. I've survived thus far.

Kennedy's 1st day of school...

Today was Kennedy's 1st day of Kindergarten! Oh my goodness...My little girl is all grown up in big school now....how did this even happen??? Anyway, she was a little nervous this morning but excited all in the same. Even though she said she was nervous, it didn't show at all. She went right in and sat down and starting coloring and never made a fuss. She didn't cry. She wasn't clingy or anything. She said bye and that was it. As I walked out I started to get a little emotional, but I held back the tears. She called me as soon as she got home to her Daddy's after school and she said that she had a wonderful day and made lots of friends and that she loved it! So here she is on her 1st day of school:

Happy 3rd Anniversary to us!

Today is mine and Lindsey's 3rd anniversary! Happy Anniversary babe! So far so good! Still feels like we're newlyweds...Ha! Yeah right! Just kidding, but we still are pretty much inseparable. In fact, we just got into a fight this past weekend b/c he wanted to go to a friend's house and I was tired b/c we had already been out all night and I told him that he could go by himself but he didn't want to go w/out me; it was a huge ordeal. Anyway, we were married 08/08/08 which is good luck in the Asian culture. We're not Asian, but we'll take what we can get! And since this is our 3rd anniversary traditionally we would get each other leather gifts and in our little dream world this is Lindsey's gift from me:
And this would be Lindsey's gift to me:
But in reality we didn't get each other anything or go anywhere b/c we've been too busy and too broke. Maybe we'll make up for it somehow. Oh well, that's life. We have each other and we're very much in love and that's all that matters. Today is just another day as far as we're concerned.

It's official...we have a swimmer.

Kennedy just finished her Swim Academy at the Cooper Fitness Center in McKinney. She's been taking lessons for the past two weeks. They've learned the basic skills of swimming: bubbles, submerging, floating, etc. She can swim a short distance above and under water with out her floaties. We're so proud! We thought it was a pretty important step considering we swim every.single.day!

Kennedy's Weekend Rewind

Since Kennedy was at her Dad's on her actual birthday and since her and I NEVER get ANY alone time together I decided to dedicate a full weekend to whatever she wanted to do. It was our "Mommy & Me" weekend.

Friday we started out by going to McDonald's to get a Happy Meal and play on the playground. Papaw Danny & Grandma Bobbie met us there and they brought lots of gifts and cupcakes. We ate, played, opened gifts, and sang Happy Birthday...she had a blast. After McDonald's we came back to the house and went swimming until the pool closed at 10PM; needless to say we were waterlogged and beat. After swimming we watched The Cat in the Hat and she was long gone before the movie even started, but that was okay b/c I had a super big day planned for her on Saturday.Saturday we woke up and I told her I would make her whatever she wanted for breakfast...she chose eggs, strawberries, & biscuits. Yum! After breakfast we got dressed and headed out to get her nails done. She wanted a mani & a pedi! :) She always asks me, "Mommy why does your polish always stay on and mine comes off?" So I told her we would go get her nails professionally done.I should've taken a pic right after she got them done, but I didn't take one until today so they've chipped a little bit. But they're still really cute! She was really proud of them showing them off to everyone. After the mani & pedi we headed over to Starbucks for some refreshments since it was 100 degrees outside. I got a Venti Blackened Ice Tea unsweet...it's my fav and she got some chocolate milk.Nothing's better than some iced tea in this Texas heat. After Starbucks we headed over to Stonebriar Mall to play in the play area and ride the carousel.By this time we were starving so we decided to meet up w/my friend Leanne at Uncle Julio's which is Kennedy's favorite restaurant. We chowed down on chips and hot sauce and queso and we split some nachos. While we were there we ran into Kennedy's Dad and Step-mom...awkward. She had no idea how to act and was super excited that they were there. It was actually pretty funny. After lunch we headed over to my Mom's for the family bday party. It was my Aunt Marla's, Kennedy's, & my Grandpa Gene's bday so we just kind of celebrated all of them
together.Kennedy of course ended up staying at my Mom's that night so she could have some Grandma time and some Brittney time (my lil sis) and some Candice time (my cousin - we're the same age - so we've always been close). Sunday we woke up and got dressed and headed over to Clay Mathis Park in Mesquite. Our church was having a picnic that day. Not sure why when it's 1000 degrees out side. Jordan you're crazy. It was pretty miserable, but we still managed to have fun. There was lots of good food and plenty to drink. Of course, we didn't stay long due to the heat. My Mom, Brittney, & Kennedy met us there so we grabbed K and headed out to BeBe's & Pop's for yet another bday celebration for K and dinner. My phone went dead so I didn't get to take any pics of her cake or her opening presents over there. :(

All and all she made out like a bandit this past weekend and had a blast. She thought it was so cool that we celebrated her bday 3x. She got a ton of clothes and shoes since she's fixing to start school here in a few weeks, Ariel stuff, movies, a Barbie house, a Barbie car, a stuffed Chloe w/2 Clifford books, Pinkilicious...omg she got soooo much stuff!
