Ok for real, this is happening!

It's just about 7am and I just now got to the hospital. No baby yet, but he is certainly on his way. Here's the rundown of what happened while I was at home sleeping.

Kristen had an appointment with Dr Simmons yesterday at around 5. She was still only fingertip dilated, but he assured her one way or another, they were not leaving without a baby this time. She left the Dr's office and went to eat at La Madeline where she had a Chicken Cesar Salad and Strawberries Romanov. Once she was able to get into a room at the hospital, they checked her and she was already at a "3". They decided to forgo the Cervidil and just give her Petosin.

In the night, her water broke on it's own and at around 4am they gave her an epidural. They checked her around 5am and she was already dilated to a "5". She has been having regular contractions, and she thinks she probably further dilated by now. So now she's just resting, eating ice chips and watching Saved By the Bell.

They also have finally decided on the Kingsley's full name. He will now and forever been known as Kingsley Elvis Bishop.

8:25 am UPDATE

Nurse Gracie just checked her and she's at a "9". She's feeling a lot of pressure and I think pushing will probably start soon. She's having constant contractions and is pretty uncomfortable. Poor girl is just ready to get this baby out.

The latest news

It's Jennifer here again, just thought I'd pass on what news I know. They rescheduled Kristen to be admitted to the hospital today instead of yesterday. Hopefully, this time she'll be able to stay and deliver the baby. That's all the news I have for now, I'll write more when I know more.

**UPDATE**

I just talked to Kristen and they are once again at the hospital. This time, her Dr says they are not leaving without a baby. They will attempt to let the Cervidil take it's course, but if that doesn't work, it's leading to a C-Section tomorrow. I will be up at the hospital ready to blog on the family's behalf tomorrow around 9am. I will keep everyone posted on the events as they unfold. Let's just hope that she can get some rest tonight, and hopefully not have to get a C-Section tomorrow morning. Look out for pics of Kingsley because I will post them as fast as my fingers and Internet speed will allow!

Birthday Morning

Well everyone made it through the night, sans baby. Kristen didn't get a whole lot of sleep and poor Lindsey had to sleep on the floor because he was nice enough to let me have the couch. It's about 8am right now and Kristen and Lindsey are laying together in her bed resting. Nurse Debbie says that they will take the Cervidil out around 9 and then start her IV and administer the Pitocin.

Last night, family stopped in to visit Kristen and Lindsey. Baby Kingsley, you were visited by your Grandparents Beth and Dennis, Danny and Bobbie, Great Grandma Nanny, Great Aunt Sabrina, and Aunt Shelby even before you were born! Here's some pics of the visit.

Here's a couple pics of the happy family from last night.

So now it's just a waiting game for baby Kingsley to make his appearance. I believe some family will be arriving shortly and hopefully after they administer the IV, I will "update" with a confirmation that Kristen had dilated some.

**UPDATE**

Well it looks like little Kingsley doesn't quite want to make an apperance today. Kristen and Lindsey were sent home this morning to wait things out at home. If things don't happen naturally over the weekend, Kristen will be readmitted on Monday at 8pm for another round of Cervidil and then hopefully be induced on Tuesday morning. Lets pray that with enough walking around this weekend, that things will take course on their own and he will make an apperance over the weekend. The family was dissapointed of course, but at least Kristen was able to go get some food, she was STARVING! I will continue to update as necessary.

The Countdown Begins

Hello everybody, this is Jennifer filling in for Kristen running the play by play on Kingsley's arrival into this world.

Kristen and Lindsey had a doctors appointment at 5 this afternoon for the final check up on the baby. Everything is lookin good, her blood pressure was a tiny bit high but who can blame her (Having a baby isn't without it's stress!). The doctor said she was only dilated at finger tip width which I suppose isn't very much.

We all then met up for Kristen's "last meal" at Luna De Nocha for some tasty Mexican food. "Everyone"consisted of Kristen, Lindsey, Greg, Paul and me. For future reference Kingsley, your mama ate a cup of avocado soup and a half order of bean and cheese nachos. Here's a pic of mommy and daddy.

So Kristen got into her delivery room just after 7 and basically since then has just been trying to relax, which seems harder said than done for her since the baby is pressing on her ribs quite a bit. I just heard a nurse say that they'll be coming back in to do some blood work in a bit and I guess after that they will administer the Cervidil.

I will keep everyone posted once something else happens.

Kennedy Update...

As I mentioned in my last blog this morning...Kennedy has been sick and had a doctors appointment this morning, well...she's had this cough and congestion for almost a year now (pretty much since she started daycare) and we haven't been able to get rid of it and she's caught all other kinds of infections and viruses along the way on top of the cough and congestion. The doctor's really concerned because she's just not getting better. At one point in time she thought is might asthma related, but we're not sure. We've had her on antibiotic after antibiotic and they haven't helped. Today she put her on ANOTHER antibiotic, a steroid, eye drops for pink eye (she has pink eye right now), and a decongestant. She also suggested taking her to a specialist to see if she might be allergic to anything...she's thinking she might be allergic to cats or that she might have to have her adenoids out. She also said we might have to switch daycares (preferably to a much smaller "at home" one). She's going back to the doctor on Thursday to get blood work done. So much prayers and help are needed right now.

Hallelujah!

Lindsey's finally going back to work! For those of you who don't know...Lindsey left TESS back in September of last year for what we thought was a better opportunity; he joined the Union and became and Ironworker. At first, all was good but then the holidays and the bad weather rolled around. For the most part all of his co-workers are journeymen and are on guaranteed 40; he's only an apprentice...which means if they don't work - they still get paid and when Lindsey doesn't work - he doesn't get paid. So needless to say life has been very tough since November! Not to mention the wreck I was in which put me in the hospital for 2 days and being down to one vehicle and then that vehicle breaking down. And Christmas. And Kennedy being sick all the time. I also had this huge, very important project going on at work, which enabled me to not be able to take any time off. All of this on top of being 8/9 months pregnant; it's been a total freaking nightmare.

Everyone always says it gets worse before it gets better. Well, thank God...it's finally getting better. I don't know if I could've taken much more! Kinglsey will hopefully be here late Thursday or sometime Friday. Lindsey's going back to work. Both cars are fixed (but we still have to come up w/the funds to get the XB back...unfortuntately the deductible is currently out of our threshold). We finished the huge project at work. And last, but not least...Kennedy is at the doctor as I'm typing this. :sigh of relief:

The Final Countdown

6 more days...

I don't know if I can take this much longer; 6 days just sounds entirely too long! I'm so miserable! At this point I'm pretty much immobile, but thanks to my lovely friends and family we're getting prepared slowly, but surely. Kingsley's crib is intact and so is his dresser. Most of his clothes are washed and now they just need to be organized and put away. My lovely friend Stacey is coming over this weekend to give our apartment a face lift - Thank God! But unfortunately, there's still a ton of stuff to do! I still need to clean and sterilize all his bottles and find a place for them in my unorganized kitchen. I still need to open and organize all his bathing/diapering products. I still need to get his bassinet ready. Put his bouncer together. I need to go get my breast pump accessories. And to top it all off we still don't have a car seat or a stroller! Yikes!
